Pure Cane Sugar

Cane sugar, like other natural sugars, exfoliate in two ways: the actual “scrubbiness” of the sugar plus the sugar’s natural AHAs (Alpha hydroxy acids).

A scrub made of sugar cleans and removes dead, dull skin and helps to prevent acne, blackheads, whiteheads, breakouts and skin blemishes.

Natural sugars contain Glycolic Acid, a type of alpha-hydroxy acid that when applied to the skin helps help loosen the “glue” that holds the dead skin cells to the surface of the skin which allows the old, skin cells to be washed away gently.

Sugar is also a humectant. This means it helps draw and seal atmospheric moisture into the skin and hold it there. Consequently, using sugar as part of a natural scrub creates a remarkably softening, gentle, and efficacious experience.Cane sugar, like other natural sugars, exfoliate in two ways: the actual “scrubbiness” of the sugar plus the sugar’s natural AHAs (Alpha hydroxy acids).

Organic Sugar

To be certified organic, sugars must be extracted from organically grown sugar cane or sugar beets plants. They must be processed, handled, and packaged according to a long list of rules. The law—the National Organic Program or NOP—was established by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

Organic sugar scrubs can help rejuvenate skin by promoting the regrowth of healthy skin cells. The organic products like coconut oil, jojoba oil, essential oils, and vitamins all combine with the white sugar to rejuvenate your skin and improve the overall quality of your skin.

Organic sugars are also required to not be filtered through bone char. This means an organic sugar can be considered vegan.
